Fight No More
03:55
|
|||
V1) Living secondhand, off the love of a dying branch
Does it satisfy?
Could be swayed into the, arms of another
To keep me high
But the grass is always greener, on the other side
Don't wanna fight no more
V2) Rally forces, friendships fall in our name
So stand your ground
Through the grapevine, peace permeates the air
To work this out
But the grass is always greener, on the other side
Don't wanna fight no more
V3) On my way home, dark chocolate with red wine
And open ears
Elated we meet, on the bedroom floor
To ease our fears
But the grass is always greener, on the other side
But the grass is always greener, on the other side
But the grass is always greener, on the other side
Don't wanna fight no more

San Ysidro
02:38
|

V1) She needed to leave, she had no more patience for waiting.
Her golden opportunity had arrived.
She never looked back and she smiled as if she was saying
I couldn't have lived with myself if I hadn't tried.
Norma saved up her money to meet Clarck Gable.
She was living in some sort of teenage dream.
Young Norma was willing but she was never able to make the Hollywood scene
V2) She knew she had love but she didn't know where she could put it.
At least that's the song that she heard and always sings. She knew she was gone but she didn't know where she was going.
Get on the bus and see what her mama brings.
Millie fell for the boy without no hesitation.
She took off her glasses so she could be seen.
Millie knew her hopes would only cause frustration because the boy was mean.
All the people that you meet in San Ysidro, tell you there's nothing to do here, this towns a bore.
Some are wicked but I would not call them evil, they're just hoping for more

V1) On point in conversation from the laughs in my direction
It's a shame we won't go home tonight
What's left of recollection leaves you less than perfection
It's a shame we won't go home tonight
I wandered here, to watch myself let go
And when you appeared, I already should have known
Don't hit on me just because you're drunk
V2) Our roles have been established, our lines they seem to vanish
What's mine is mine and mine alone to keep
Is this the place that we wished we could, act so childish
What's mine is mine and mine alone to keep
Here we stand blowing through every red light
Whispering ignore this sinking feeling this ain't right
Don't hit on me just because you're drunk
V3) And now we know of lessons learned, and people gone and drinks have churned
We''re still the last to say goodnight
In time, tables turn, move in, get burned
We're still the last to say goodnight
I wandered here, to watch myself let go
And when you appeared, I already should have known
Don't hit on me just because you're drunk

Halcyon Days
05:06
|
|||
And I know it might seem strange, that your words to me
Were like shelter from a storm
A cooling breeze, that swifly carries me
Away from my worries, forevermore
But reality has it's grips on me
To tear me from my Halcyon Days
This tempest I won't outlast, without you guiding me past
All that stand between, me and you
But reality has it's grips on me
To tear me from my Halcyon Days
But could it be, I can only dream
Of a peace I'll never know
Am I the sleeper
Am I the watcher
Am I the dreamer?
And I know it might seem strange(And I know it might seem strange)
And I know it might seem strange(And I know it might seem strange)
And I know it might seem strange(And I know it might seem strange)
And I know it might seem strange
But reality, has it's grips on me
To tear me from my Halcyon Days
But could it be, I can only dream
Of a peace I'll never know

Shoes Got No Sole
03:59
|
|||
V1) I thought these shoes would last forever
But they wont hold up in this stormy weather.
When it rains outside my feet get soaked, when I'm walking down the street the kids they all joke.
They got laces and a tongue and a place for my toes, but the bottoms of my feet shouldn't be so exposed
There the only ones I love I cant let go oh no (Shoes got no sole) There the only shoes of mine don't make me cry oh why (Shoes got no sole)
V2) I've known issues for a long time.
You could say that they're good friends of mine.
But I wouldn't mind the rain if my feet stay dry, and all the girlies in school saying I'm looking fly.
They say in with the new and out with the old, but my feet will not forgive me if my heart was so cold
There the only ones I love I cant let go oh no (Shoes got no sole) There the only shoes of mine don't make me cry oh why (Shoes got no sole)
Bridge) Shoes wearing people over there
Walking around without a care
I'm not like them, I'm not complete
Without a good pair on my feet
Before you say it's no big deal(Over, under, round and through)
Just think of how yours make you feel(Mister bunny pull him through)
And if the fairy tales are true(Over, under, round and through)
You can find love with just one shoe
V3)Now I got new shoes, and they're damage free
But something doesn't really sit right with me
They got laces, and a tounge and a place for my heel
But I'll never be okay with the way they feel
There the only ones I love I cant let go oh no (Shoes got no sole) There the only shoes of mine don't make me cry oh why (Shoes got no sole)
There the only ones I love I cant let go oh no (Shoes got no sole) There the only shoes of mine don't make me cry oh why (Shoes got no sole)

Marionette
04:42
|
|||
V1) I've got a secret, of love and tears
A story unwound through the years
And though the truth may be burried in sand
I saw her draw the line with her hand
V2) She sits in her rome, all alone
Writing melloncholy piano
And when she mumbles, "my song has no name"
I hear pieces of us, clear as day
C) Who knows who pulls the strings
To make us dance and sing
Who knows who pulls the strings
V3) Drove to the graveyard, what caught my eye
Two tombstones labeled, you and I
Maybe this was meant to take my whole life
But thoughts like that are the sharpest knives
C) Who knows who pulls the strings
To make us dance and sing
Who knows who pulls the strings
V4) Blow out the candles, save your words
We're well past the point of no return
Each time we try to stomp out this flame
It rears its ugly head back again
Same old song and dance, my friend
C) Who knows who pulls the strings
To make us dance and sing
Who knows who pulls the strings
String puppet, marrionette
String puppet, marrionette
String puppet, marrionette
String puppet, marrionette
String puppet, marrionette
String puppet, marrionette
